Summary
In this lesson, you will learn about all the materials you will need to get started with oil painting. We'll talk about what makes oil paint different from any other medium. What are the advantages of painting in oil? How to transition your technique from other mediums. You'll gain an understanding of the different paints, brushes, surfaces, mediums, varnishes. You'll be introduced to transforming your art studio to a nontoxic environment for oil painting. Materials will be available for students to see first hand what they need for oil painting: surfaces, paint brushes, palette, mediums, varnishes. In addition, we'll discuss your concerns and obstacles in oil painting.
